NEW Williamsport's Big Hitters!

The bases are loaded on this great tour honoring Williamsport, the home of Little League and the annual Little League World Series, and the great historic names that made this city the lumber capitol of the world in the 1800s!

Can you catch a fly ball? How fast can you run a base? Find out with interactive exhibits at the Little League museum that are fun for all ages. Plus lean all about Carl Stoltz who founded Little League in Williamsport 75 years ago, and enjoy authentic Little League heritage, artifacts and images set in the museum reopened in 2013 after major renovations. Also tour the Little League World Headquarters’ grounds including Lamade Stadium where the annual World Series is played each August and, if available, the dormitories for the championship teams.

Williamsport was also home to wealthy lumber barons in the 1800s who built their churches and mansions along Historic Millionaires’ Row. A step-on guide will lead the way as you learn about Peter Herdic who was the founder of Millionaires’ Row and perhaps dine in his former mansion which is now a gourmet restaurant. The building is a fine example of Italian Villa architecture with distinctive features including ornate plaster moldings and arches, and a mahogany stairway that curves three floors to a cupola with an intriguing three-story chandelier.

A relaxing Susquehanna River cruise is also included aboard the Hiawatha riverboat with option for a picnic lunch buffet on board. Enjoy beautiful scenery in the comfort of the enclosed climate-controlled lower deck where cocktail service is available or the open air upper deck. Lean why locals say the lumber era’s sawmills put the “mill” in millionaire, plus about the strike known as the “Sawdust War”, legendary lumberjack “Cherry Tree” McCreary who backed down the world-champion prizefighter John Sullivan, and a conductor on the Underground Railroad who used the river to help slaves escaping north to freedom.
