Celebrate the holiday season with a visit to the Eisenhower Farm adorned with Mamie Eisenhower’s own holiday decorations and the Shriver House which is dedicated to the civilian side of the Battle of Gettysburg and decorated as it would have been during Civil War.
Dining options include the historic Dobbin House and Farnsworth House plus General Pickett’s Buffet and Hickory Bridge Farm. Plenty of shopping is also available in the quaint downtown Lincoln’s Circle area and at the Outlets at Gettysburg.
Multi-day tours can also include Hershey Sweet Lights and Chocolate World, wineries, brewery, distillery, and mansion tour with dozens of decorated trees and more.

Head to Harrisburg, PA for a wonderful holiday tour featuring grand sites decked out for the season. Visit the PA Governor’s Residence where local decorators show their holiday flare and perhaps take home some ideas for your own decorating. Enjoy a guided tour of the PA Capital Building with highlights including a marble staircase and grand dome plus holiday decor including an enormous holiday tree often more than 20 feet tall in the building’s rotunda. Also visit a local greenhouse and gift shop where you’ll be surrounded by poinsettia and take one home as a special gift. Optional greenhouse tour and of course time for holiday shopping in the gift shop! Available limited dates, usually the second and third week in December.

Dickens of a Christmas Festival
Wellsboro, PA turns into a Victorian village the first Saturday in December each year. The quaint streets featuring gas street lights become home to food and craft vendors dressed in Victorian-inspired attire. Carolers serenade shoppers and scalawags roam the streets in good fun. The historic Penn Wells Restaurant offers a holiday buffet and a presentation of Dickens’ A Christmas Carol telling the story of scrooge and the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future. Overnight options including Corning’s Sparkle Festival this evening and the NY Finger Lakes as well as Victorian Williamsport available. Annual festival first Saturday in December.
