Watkins Glen Lake & Lap Tour
Explore Watkins Glen, NY, at the base of Seneca Lake and home to the renown Watkins Glen International raceway. Known as “The Glen”, Watkins Glen International has a long and storied past from its Formula 1 roots when it was established on the streets of Watkins Glen in 1948 as a grand prix event to the current track, a North America premier racing facility, which is NY’s home for NASCAR. Experience the track yourself with a lap or two aboard your coach taking on the “S” curves and straight ways at a moderate speed of course! You may learn more about the track’s history during an optional visit to the Racing Research Library featuring a race car on display and video telling the story of the original race circuit along winding roads through and around the village of Watkins Glen. Also included is a narrated cruise on Seneca Lake where you’ll enjoy the majestic scenery including views of 165-foot Hector Falls and Native American paintings along the east shore cliffs, while learning about the lake’s salt industry and more.
