NEW! Mount Hope Estate Tea with Miss Daisy Grubb

Miss Daisy Grubb, the former owner of the Mount Hope Estate’s mansion from many years ago, is our Victorian host for a delicious tea where you will enjoy a variety of savory finger sandwiches and sweet desserts in the mansion listed on the National Register of Historic Sites. Learn a bit of tea etiquette, be regaled with stories of the mansion by some of Miss Grubb’s best friends, and perhaps also enjoy browsing and wine tasting in the adjacent gift shop. Choices of sites to compliment your visit include time in downtown Lititz for great shopping including Wilber Chocolates plus perhaps a Moravian Church tour, the Watch & Clock Museum in Columbia and/or Turkey Hill Experience tea tour or hands-on ice cream experience, local Farmers Markets, and Harrisburg sites/activities including Capitol Building tour, PA Governor’s Mansion tour, Susquehanna Art Museum, Pride of the Susquehanna Riverboat cruise, and the historic Harris-Cameron Mansion.  Tea available May to early October.

American Music Theatre

Visit the American Music Theatre in Lancaster which offers wonderful original musicals throughout the year including a fantastic holiday show as well as traveling shows. Attached season features currently listed original shows.

Sight & Sound Theatre

Enjoy a visit to Sight & Sound Theatre in Lancaster where the Bible comes to life. In 2019 the theater presents “Jesus,” the musical stage adventure about the most famous person ever to walk the earth and the everyday people whose lives he changed forever through early October. Then “The Miracle of Christmas” takes the stage before the much anticipated “Queen Esther” opens in March 2020. A visit to the theater can be combined with a number of delicious dining options, shopping and Penn Dutch experiences.

Dining options include the historic Dobbin House and Farnsworth House plus General Pickett’s Buffet and Hickory Bridge Farm. Plenty of shopping is also available in the quaint downtown Lincoln’s Circle area and at the Outlets at Gettysburg.

Dive into pastries, scones with lemon curd, salads and finger sandwiches, browse in the onsite tea shop, plus consider Elva’s Chalk Art Presentation where the talented artist uses chalk to draw a large picture illustrating a story that is presented with pre-recorded music and narration and also shares her own story of growing up in a conservative Mennonite family and beginning to draw as a child which was considered to many in her community to be a “frivolous” endeavor. Visit Mount Hope Estate;s mansion in Manheim, PA, a most unique setting for a theatrical interactive dining experience. Meet and mingle with intriguing guests to the Mansion and be sure to take note as they visit guests table side while they dine. After enjoying a four-course meal and tastes of the mystery that is thick in the air, everyone will assemble in the Mansion’s Theater Room for a time of interrogation, hilarity and the answer to the question on everyone’s mind! Performances run Fridays, Saturdays and Select Sundays, February through April.
