Pick up a paint pallet during a paint class and treat your palate to delicious treats! Savor gourmet food in Le Jeune Chef, the teaching restaurant of Penn State’s local culinary school, including a dessert demonstration of the restaurant’s signature chocolate soup! Or you may choose to dine in The Peter Herdic House, a gourmet mansion restaurant along the city’s Historic Millionaires’ Row. The Herdic House was built in the mid-1800s in the Italian Villa style and inside features an three-level open staircase with a beautiful chandelier. Also explore the artistic side of the city and yourself with views of the world’s largest outdoor portraiture mural, Inspiration Williamsport, created by Michael Pilato and highlighting the region’s rich heritage. Plus try your own hand at painting with a relaxing painting class great for novices as well as experienced painters. Additional options include a visit to the local Arts Center theater boasting a wonderfully restored ceiling mural and the Taber Museum featuring paintings by Rosen (one of Jackie O’s favorite painters), a Tiffany church window, a HAUNTED painting and more art to enjoy along with historical displays and the 300-piece Shempp Toy Train collection. We have a cluster of three quality wineries and a distillery plus more in the surrounding area. Also included is a stop at Tait Farm offering local produce and artisan wares including shrubs which add a special touch to cocktails and perhaps dining at the four-star Nittany Lion Inn on the Penn State Campus or a historic tavern from the 1800s. Make it all about the wine and food or add in a local site or two such as an art museum, sports museum, stamp-collecting headquarters, Penn’s Cavern and/or Boal Mansion & Christopher Columbus Mansion.
